Hayley

Our Managing Director — and where it all began.

After completing her Mathematics degree at the University of Reading, Hayley began her career in the financial industry. It quickly became clear, however, that her true passion lay not in finance but in education. She missed the excitement of exploring Mathematics, supporting learners, and helping others gain confidence in their abilities — far more than she missed the world of spreadsheets and deadlines.

That passion led to the creation of Hayley Booth Maths Tutoring. As demand grew and families began to recommend her widely, the service naturally expanded, evolving into what we now proudly know as HB Tuition.

As Founder and Managing Director, Hayley leads the business in its entirety. She sets the vision, direction and standards across all areas of HB Tuition, overseeing both the educational provision and the overall management of the centre. Every aspect of the business reflects her values — from the quality of teaching and safeguarding, to the welcoming, supportive environment families experience from day one.

As Head of Education, Hayley is deeply involved in shaping curriculum, lesson structure and tutor development. She ensures teaching remains challenging yet pressure-free, helping students not only improve academically but build real confidence and enjoyment in their learning. Her approach makes sure every learner feels capable, motivated and proud of their progress.

Today, Hayley continues to guide HB Tuition forward with a blend of expertise, empathy and leadership — inspiring both students and staff, while ensuring HB Tuition remains a trusted, family-run business dedicated to helping every learner reach their full potential.

Andrew

Andrew joined Hayley in 2019 and became a joint leader within our family-owned and run tuition business. As Operations Director, he is responsible for overseeing the operational, administrative and financial framework that underpins HB Tuition’s day-to-day success and long-term sustainability.

Andrew leads the business operations across all areas, ensuring systems, processes and structures are robust, efficient and consistently applied. His role is primarily focused behind the scenes, providing the organisation and stability required for the centre to deliver a high-quality, professional service to families and students.

A core part of Andrew’s responsibility is financial oversight and planning. He works closely with the financial team on budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow monitoring and financial administration, helping to ensure the business remains well-managed and financially sound.

Andrew also oversees scheduling, resource planning and staff coordination, ensuring timetables are effective and the centre operates smoothly throughout the academic year. Alongside this, he plays an active role in strategic planning, supporting business growth, service development and continuous improvement.

In addition, Andrew leads on governance, compliance and internal standards, ensuring all tutors are fully vetted, safeguarded and aligned with HB Tuition’s policies and procedures.

Through strong organisational leadership, careful planning and a commitment to high standards, Andrew’s role as Operations Director provides the backbone that allows HB Tuition to continue thriving as a trusted, family-run business dedicated to helping learners reach their full potential.

Rasitha

We’re so pleased to have Rasitha on the HB Tuition team. A Biomedical Science graduate from De Montfort University, Rasitha is currently undertaking a Histopathology and Microbiology course to further enhance her knowledge and practical skills in the sciences. With A-Level studies in Maths, Biology and Chemistry, she brings a strong academic foundation and a real passion for her subjects to every lesson.

Science is Rasitha’s main passion, but she also enjoys teaching Maths and supporting students in both areas with clarity and confidence. She understands the importance of making learning approachable and works hard to ensure her lessons are both supportive and engaging. By tailoring her approach to each student, Rasitha helps learners feel at ease, gain confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed in exams and beyond.

Outside of her academic interests, Rasitha enjoys reading — especially fiction — and loves the experience of diving into a book before seeing its remake on screen. She also keeps active at the gym and enjoys travelling, bringing balance and enthusiasm to everything she does.

Tania

We’re delighted to have Tania as part of the HB Tuition team. Currently studying a Human Rights Law LLM at the University of Warwick, she is excelling at the very top of her field — ranking first in her cohort with an impressive 71% average. Alongside this, Tania has a 2:1 Law LLB and exceptional A-Level results (AAAAA), showing her strong academic background and commitment to learning.

Tania’s own journey hasn’t been without challenges, and that’s what makes her such a relatable and effective tutor. She understands how difficult exams can feel and uses that experience to connect with students on a personal level. Her lessons are always tailored to each individual’s pace and learning style, ensuring that every student feels comfortable, supported, and capable of achieving their goals.

With interactive techniques such as “blurt-out” answers, past paper analysis, and applying external knowledge, Tania helps her students not only build confidence but also learn how to impress the examiner. Her encouraging, structured approach makes even the toughest topics feel manageable, turning challenges into opportunities for success.

Efe

We’re especially proud to have Efe as part of the HB Tuition team — not only because of his talent for teaching, but because he began his journey with us as a student. With our support, Efe achieved fantastic A-Level results (A*, A*, A and B) and has since gone on to study Chemistry at University College London.

Because Efe knows both sides of the tutoring experience, he truly understands the challenges students face and how best to overcome them. He’s passionate about building confidence in each subject, helping students see that with the right support, even the trickiest topics can be mastered.

Efe creates personalised learning plans for every student and often uses creative, unconventional methods to make concepts easier to understand and remember. His infectious love of learning makes every lesson both fun and engaging, while ensuring students make real, lasting progress.

Lucas

We’re delighted to have Lucas as part of the HB Tuition team. Currently in his second year studying Computer Science at the University of Birmingham, Lucas achieved an impressive set of A-Level results — AAA in Maths, Computer Science and Physics. With a strong academic background and a passion for his subjects, he brings both expertise and enthusiasm to every session.

Lucas enjoys helping students build confidence and make steady progress towards their goals. He tailors each lesson to the individual, ensuring sessions are not only productive but also enjoyable. His approachable teaching style makes tricky topics easier to understand, helping students feel supported as they develop their knowledge and skills in both Maths and Computer Science.

Outside of his studies, Lucas has a real passion for fitness. Training in the gym seven days a week, he thrives on setting personal goals and working hard to achieve them — a dedication he also brings to his tutoring. His motivation and focus inspire students to push themselves, develop resilience, and believe in what they can achieve.

Emily

We’re thrilled to have Emily as part of the HB Tuition team. Currently studying Medicine at the University of Warwick, Emily also holds a First-Class degree in Biomedical Sciences. With outstanding A-Level results (A*AAA in Business, Biology, Maths and Further Maths), she brings both strong academic knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching to every lesson.

Emily’s main focus is making sure students feel comfortable in their learning environment. She believes that confidence is key, and that learning should always be a positive, encouraging experience — whether it’s preparation for an exam or simply building understanding.

By tailoring her teaching to each student’s needs, Emily creates supportive lessons that combine clear, concise explanations with plenty of practice. Her approach helps students tackle tricky topics step by step, boosting confidence and ensuring they leave every session feeling capable and prepared.
