Tutoring maths is an absolute priviledge & an honour, seeing students grow in confidence & begin to gain a grasp on the topic is one of my all-time favourite things! But I also understand that choosing tutoring is a massive undertaking for many students & parents - the time committment, dedication to the process & of course the cost. I wanted to take a moment to introduce you to the team & tell you a little about the origins of HB Tuition & hopefully give you an insight into the ethos of the team, our backgrounds & what to expect. We believe that no two learners are the same & refuse to provide boring one-size-fits-all cookie cutter services! We pride ourselves on a truly individual approach that is customised to each & every student & from our experience it works! We would love for you to join us ... & have a little fun along the way!

Our Origin Story...

HB Tuition was founded by Hayley Booth and was born from a desire to impart her passion for maths and to support others to succeed. After completing a degree in Mathematics at the University of Reading in 2015 she initially took a job working for a large financial company but found it unsatisfying.

2016 was a big year for Hayley and her growing family as she married and fell pregnant with her first child. Big changes in her personal life led to the realisation that she wanted to take big steps in her professional life. Hayley wanted to make use of the complex maths she learned during her degree as well as providing an opportunity to help others whilst also having the flexibility she wanted to balance her home life. So began Hayley Booth Maths Tutoring.

The moment she began tutoring she knew that she had found what it was she was meant to do...she took a leap of faith and left her job to pursue the business full-time! Over the first couple of years, Hayley Booth Maths Tutoring grew much bigger and it was time to make a move! The first Hayley Booth Maths Tutoring offices were set up on Smith Street in Warwick and the student base had grown from 15 to over 30!

Each year saw a cohort of about 31 students taking tutoring sessions - every single achievement & every Eureka moment with a student solidified the fact that the approach & model being employed was a winning recipe.

January 2020 saw even more change with the birth of Hayley's second child - ever the trooper she took a mere one month off before returning to normal tutoring sessions! During this month, every single student remained on board & excitedly welcomed Hayley back in February.

March 2020 brought a whole new set of challenges when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world meaning that face-to-face sessions would not be possible for a while (little did we know how long!). As part of the flexibility of learning on offer, online lessons were already an option for our students so the transition to 100% online was achieved with little disruption. In fact, many students actually preferred online lessons & the comfort that came with learning in their own familiar environment (and often PJs!)

The next few months saw a growth in satisfied learners and parents & it became clear we had started to get close to capacity. This is when we started to grow our incredible team! Our talented tutors have all received the full training in the Hayley Booth style. Since 2022, we have had a collective cohort of over 100+ students per week, each strengthening their grasp on Maths, English or Sciences & learning to love the subject they are all passionate about.

When looking to take on additional tutors we were incredibly selective and feel lucky to have found our amazing tutors. Both are very highly educated & talented within their subject area, with extraordinary levels of empathy & humour...the perfect combination for one-to-one tuition! our tutors are passionate about education with a deep understanding of the challenges & fears many people have around the study. We have all been there at one point or another! We get it!

Summer 2022 saw the team move to a bigger offices in the centre of Warwick & we continue to grow by collaborating with local schools to provide dedicated 11+ after-school clubs. With exciting levels of growth we have been really proud to offer more tuition sessions to more learners of all ages & abilities. Our ethos remains unchanged from the day we began - to create an enjoyable learning environment which would supply high level tuition support in a low-pressure environment, tailored to individuals rather than acting like a traditional teacher/classroom set-up.
